Pedal Power ACT has serious concerns about the Government’s plan to get rid of the on-road cycle lane on Hindmarsh Drive.

The ACT Government has just announced the 2024/25 Budget which includes a wide range of projects for Active Travel, however it is difficult to identify “shovel ready” projects for the coming year.

Our Advocates recently met with ACT Government representatives to discuss some repairs needed in the Woden area.

A large Fire and Ambulance station is being built at the south end of Clunies Ross Street. Pedal Power was consulted before construction started and our advice on how to allow for safe cycle traffic was accepted.

Like it has done every year for the past 15, this year Pedal Power will be providing free bike parking for the national Folk Festival. We hope that by next year however, we won’t be required to provide this service.
