Board
Pedal Power ACT is governed by a volunteer board, committed to our vision of getting more Canberrans cycling more often. The board is elected by members at our Annual General Meeting in March.

David Whitney
PRESIDENT
After a career in the arts around Australia and as Director of the Canberra Theatre and artsACT, David has now re-kindled his enjoyment of recreational and touring cycling and is committed to encouraging others to discover Canberra and the local region on a bicycle.

Linda Laker
SECRETARY
Linda has been on the board since 2018, following a career in government and the private sector. Linda brings to the role strategic and policy skills as well as financial, IT and communications experience. She is a casual leisure cyclist.

Jill Walker
TREASURER
Jill is a semi-retired economist, who has spent most of her career working in the field of competition law and economics. She has experience in public sector governance, and has served on numerous boards.

John Widdup
John has been on the board (and its predecessor) since 2004, serving as President or Vice President for 10 of those years and active in advocacy for most of that time. John is a retired civil engineer and an enthusiastic recreational, transport and touring rider.

Amanda Day
Amanda is an experienced work health and safety and public administration expert with technical qualifications in public health and risk management. Through 20 years in the public service Amanda has used her high-level skills in program development, regulation, team leadership and risk management.

Paris Lord
Paris has more than twenty years experience in communications, marking, politics and journalism in Australia and East Asia. He has worked for entities including the ANU, DFAT in Shanghai, and China Radio International’s English service in Beijing.

Julie Polson
Julie is a casual cyclist and is keen to promote cycling to females. She has been on the Pedal Power ACT Board since late 2018. Julie had an extensive career in the Federal Government as a senior executive working in the fields of information technology, data analysis, finance and policy.
