Our Advocates checking on repairs

resurfacing of the path in Woden

Pedal Power’s advocates recently met with Government representatives and asked about the progress of some repairs being conducted in the Woden area.

The underpass  to cross Melrose Drive near Chappell Street in Woden is a popular bike route. Unfortunately a stolen car was set on fire in the underpass and this may have caused structural damage. Testing for damage to
the concrete is underway and if it is found to be in sound condition, the underpass is expected to be open again in about 2 months.

The cycle path behind Woden Police station is bumpy and generally grotty following some work that was done on it. This  remediation work is still incomplete and our team was told that that the path will be resurfaced to a good standard when works on Wilbow Street nearby are done to make a suitable crossing for the principal route C4.

This work is presently planned to happen in a bit under a year from now.
