A better insurance deal

Over the past month, we have been engaging in ongoing negotiations regarding your insurance. For the first time in many years, we have been able to receive a quote from a second insurance broker, allowing us to negotiate a better deal. Our negotiations have resulted in significant savings, ensuring we can maintain our reduction in membership fees and invest more money back into our office, community programs and advocacy work.   

We have made one small change to our insurance program, reducing public liability for members to $5 million. After extensive analysis we have found there have been very few public liability claims from our membership, and public liability claims across the country rarely exceed this amount. This benefit is in line with other cycling organisations such as The Bicycle Network.  

The savings that have come from this decision were extensive and ensured we were not required to increase membership fees. We have also been able to maintain benefits you have told us you value the most – specifically our high non-Medicare medical expenses and income-protection coverage.
