Kickstarting 50 Years of Pedal Power: Join us this Saturday for a Community Ride

Pedal Power is kicking off our 50th anniversary celebrations in style with a special community gathering and a 6 km ride through Canberra’s city centre. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just love the idea of a leisurely group ride, this event is for you.

Happening on Saturday 1 March 2025, from 1pm to 3pm at Haig Park, Braddon, this ride is all about celebrating cycling, showcasing how easy and safe it is to ride in the city, and recognising the incredible contributions of volunteers across the ACT. Thanks to the City Renewal Authority’s Placemaking Grants program, this event is set to be a highlight of the inaugural Cyclonats Festival.

We are thrilled to welcome Shane Rattenbury MLA, Leader of the ACT Greens, who will be joining us on the ride.

As a small thank you to our wonderful volunteers and supporters, Rotary will be serving up a delicious free sausage sizzle, including vegan options. If you haven’t already registered, now’s the time. Grab your bike, bring your friends and family, and be part of this milestone celebration.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Our 50th anniversary year is packed with exciting events, including the Fancy Women’s Ride on 8 March and the Family Cycle Picnic: May the Fourth be With You on Sunday 4 May, both at Haig Park.

Join us for a ride, stay for the community, and help us celebrate 50 years of making Canberra a better place to ride. Register now and be part of the movement for a cycling-friendly future.
